In this week’s post we want to thank French magazine “French Fashion Touch” for the article they published about our hotel: Thank you to Inés Micheron for writing about us after spending a few days here at Hotel Mariposa during her visit to Costa Rica.
Here we share the translated article with you alongside the link to the original post at frenchfashiontouch.com
Situated in the heart of one of the most unspoilt areas in the world, La Mariposa is a majestic hotel perched on the highest point of Manuel Antonio with panoramic 360 degree views. With spectacular sunsets that draw the eye out over the Pacific Ocean and with easy access to the unmissable Manuel Antonio National Park, nature and its beauty combine here at the door to your hotel.
Guests enjoy one of 62 well equipped bedrooms, surrounded by tropical gardens with cast iron walkways all of which have been meticulously designed to reflect the abundance of natural beauty that the flora and the fauna of this corner of Costa Rica has to offer.
“A magical place where the ocean, the sky, and nature itself come together in a tropical paradise.”
Behind the splendour of La Mariposa Hotel lies a French globetrotter who, one summer 25 years ago, taken by the beauty of the place and awestruck by its incredible panorama, fell in love and so set down his suitcase here definitively. Determined that he must make the place his, after a swift return trip to the USA he did so overnight, buying up the land upon which the hotel now stands.
Unafraid of hard graft, this man did not only become the owner, but the architect, construction worker, labourer, and groundsman. And as a result, the hotel has a soul and a history that is born from the labour of love that his life’s work represents.
“La Mariposa is one of the pioneering hotels of Manuel Antonio, and is also one of the best addresses in the country.”
The rooms, of varying categories, are in the Mediterranean style, spacious and well equipped with wifi, a safe for your personal belongings, fully equipped kitchen area, and some with their own jacuzzi. All are extremely comfortable and many offer impressive views. There are three swimming pools available for the enjoyment of the guests which are set with night lighting, and the poolside Sunset Terrace bar allows you to admire the sunset, cocktail in hand, on submerged bar stools without leaving the water.
Restaurant Le Papillon, whose new chef is a product of the French Cordon Bleu school, offers a fusion of national and international cuisine.
