Hotel General Terms, Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policies

Applicable for Online Bookings made through the Hotel Official Website

By confirming the Online booking process, you authorize La Mariposa Hotel to charge the amount corresponding of the reservation to your credit card registered. If there is any problem with the credit card transaction throughout the booking process, you must register a new card in order to obtain a confirmation. Also, to guarantee immediately your reservation, 50% deposit of the total amount is required upon confirmation.

Also, the Hotel reserves the right to validate only reservations covered by a deposit and reservations not guaranteed would be cancelled without notice. All cancellations must be made in writing, either by mail, e-mail, or fax. Our Fax number is (506) 2777-0050 and the E-mail address is: info@lamariposa.com The Hotel does not accept phone cancellations and all cancellations must be confirmed as received by the Hotel to be considered valid.

Please READ carefully the following TERMS:

  • Between the Holidays Season (From December 20th, 2021 until January 2nd, 2022) the Full Payment of the reservation is required due a special policy.
  • NO-SHOW is Non-Refundable regardless of the reason/season.
  • No refunds will be issued for unused room nights due to early departures, regardless of the reason/season.

GREENSEASON

(From April 16th until December 15th)

HIGH SEASON

(From January 3rd until April 15th)

PEAK SEASON

(From December 16th until January 2nd)

Late Bookings (reservations made within 29 days prior to the arrival date) are non-refundable after the payment has been processed and pay the total amount as cancellation penalty fee.

The Hotel will refund immediately the money that corresponds to the same credit card that was originally used to pay for the booking, only if the refund is applicable and adheres to the policies stated above. (Please read above policy about the $100 penalty fee applicable)

FORCE MAJEURE CLAUSE: La Mariposa Hotel is exempted for the liability for failure to execute arrangements specified herein directly or indirectly caused by or inconsequence of any conditions beyond human control. La Mariposa Hotel assumes no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from acts of God, detention annoyance, strikes, riots, civil disturbances, quarantines, weather conditions, traffic delays, flights delays, government restrictions or regulations. Responsibility cannot be accepted for any loss, damage, or additional expenses due to any or all of the above. All such loss or expense must be borne by the customer.

The Hotel assumes that the clients have access to sources of protecting themselves against such contingencies like travel insurances and other, and they have already taken actions to protect themselves in this sense. However, option to rebook is subject to availability of rooms covered by the dates of visit.

Rates are quoted for single or double occupancy per room and per night. Published rates are subject to 13% tax or applicable taxes at the time if such should change. The Room Rate includes daily breakfast served at our main restaurant. Also includes the shuttle service to/from the main beach and the Wi-Fi Internet access.

The Hotel understands by double occupancy that two (2) people use only one room. The customer must be extra careful when reserving since they have to make sure that understand that commonly there will be either one king or queen size bed per room. If the two (2) people want to have separated beds in the same room, it must be explicitly indicated in the reservation request. Otherwise, the Hotel assumes as understood that two (2) people share the same bed and the client has accepted this as good. When more than two (2) people are travelling, the customer must clarify the bedding distribution preferences based on the room category reserved.

An extra charge of $40 USD plus taxes (13%) will be applied for each additional guest. An additional guest is defined as a person in addition to the allotted double occupancy per unit; children under 8 years old are free of charge when sharing with parents (maximum two children per room).

Check-in time is at 3:00 PM and Check-out time is at 12:00 Noon. However, Hotel La Mariposa will make best efforts to accommodate guests prior to the official check-in or after the official check-out time when requested, and subject to availability and only when is possible (room is already clean and available), the hotel will allow the client to enter in the room before the Check-in time. Likewise, clients must be told that there is a $50 USD fee for late Check-out passed 12:00 noon. Upgrade to a higher room category will depend on availability of rooms at the guest’s arrival time.

Hotel La Mariposa reserves the right to disqualify any person as guest due to immoral behavior. Refunds will not apply under these circumstances. Please note that prostitution and the exploitation of underage persons is NOT permitted in Costa Rica or within the hotel grounds. Guests who do not respect this policy will kindly be asked to leave the hotel with no refund due.
